These trilobites are found in concretions. The Bedouins of North Africa sometimes used them as a means of exchange.
Flexicalymene is an index fossil for the Ordovician and a typical trilobite of Morocco. It is frequently found there and is easy to work with. Flexicalymenes already had the ability to roll themselves up. This protective mechanism was not available to early trilobites.
