Product information "Titanosaurus eggshell (5-6 cm), Cretaceous, ARG"

Very well preserved eggshell fragment.

Dinosaurs stand out from all other extant lizards because of the calcified, hard eggshell of their clutches. This not only offered the offspring of saurians better protection, it could also be preserved better.
Titanosaurs were the largest creatures that ever lived on land. Nevertheless, the eggs were tiny in comparison: not even the size of a soccer ball. The young animals grew astonishingly fast, sometimes doubling their size in less than a year.

Age: Cretaceous
Locality: Argentina
Size: approx. 5-6 cm

For technical reasons, the colors in the product photos may differ slightly from those of the original specimen.
